Ray Stoyer Water Reclamation Facility north of Santee Lakes recycles 2,000,000 gal/day, and the water that is recycled flows through Santee Lakes, creating a unique recreational environment. Every day, 2 million gallons of partially treated sewage are saved from entering the Pacific Ocean thanks to our water recycling operation. How many gallons does that equal each year? Our neighborhood golf club, city parks, and schools all consume around half of the water that comes from the Lakes. As a result, the community’s water supply has been boosted without putting any further strain on the taxpayers or ratepayers. More interesting reads.
